The concept is completely refreshing to me as I have not seen many Korean shows with this type of story line, so it comes to me as no surprise when I learn that it is based off of a Japanese manga (of course, so are many romcoms, but that’s a story for a different time). I love that most of their shows are different from the general romcom/melodrama variety. Tempted by the prize money, revenge and each with his or her own plan, who can survive and who can emerge victorious? And it will not leave you disappointed.Based on the Japanese manga of the same title by Shinobu Kaitani, it tells the story of naive girl Nam Da Jung and con man/psychology professor Cha Woo Jin as they participate in a new show called the “Liar Game,” hosted by mysterious and suspicious business analyst turned MC, Kang Do Young. If you are into thrillers and suspense, and you’re smart and love thinking you will definitely find yourself completely engrossed in this drama.

I must say that Jamie was my favorite character, Lee El did and excellent job playing her. I think he has found his calling, I loved him as the MC. Is it just me or does anyone else love SungRok as a bad guy. Especially in a the that type of situation that was created during the game. Its always interesting observing human behavior. I have to say I loved seeing how all the characters interacted with each other. (I say this putting aside my bias for SangYoon and SeoEun (love them both lol)) I always enjoy watching Jo JaeYoon on screen he never fails to make me laugh. I mean the original has got to be great right? But not only has the Korean version got me wanting more also got me wanting to watch the Japanese version even more. But It not my usual genre as I am easily creeped out. I mean Im a big Matsumada Shota fan here. I have had the original Liar game on my list of dramas to watch for about a year now. It really left me on a high and I though it was too creepy which got me to only remembering why I didn’t want to start the drama in the first place. ITs right up there next to ramen and mint chocolate chip ice cream. Dramas like this one that constantly have you on the edge of yours seat and hanging off a cliff while keeping you high on true suspense is like a gift from the gods. I am always thankful for those dramas where you are not only bombarded with love lines and melodramatic drama that leaves you shouting at your screen. ALL WHILE KEEPING YOU ENTERTAINED AT THE SAME TIME. It is not often that a drama can stimulate you and get your mind working. But you know what even though I was lost most of the time not once did it make me annoyed of frustrated. Even with their extremely informative explanations. However I found my self going “huh?” wait wait wh~at’ a little too many times. I am not exactly a math prodigy but I am made it through high school and two years of college math so I’d like to think I know a little something. I have to be honest with you guys, most of the games, schemes, and plans in this dram went right over my head. There are few dramas that can keep and exceed the momentum from beginning to end.

Why? Because it was just as awesome and as hype as it was when I first started it. WhoHOOO! Why did I take so long ? Not because I was hard to get to the end but just because it was one on the list of dramas I had not gotten to finish before my life got interrupted by, well… life.

Sorry for being so late but I finally finished this drama. All the you have to do is play a few games. Betrayal, greed, lies, troubled pasts, and all the money you could possibly ever want up for grabs.
